The Mom Behind The Content Friend: How Allie DaDabbo Turned Her “Eye for Content” Into a Nap-Time Empire
“You’re telling me this baby has to eat every two hours, and it takes them 30 minutes just to finish one bottle? The math is not mathing.”
If you’ve ever tried to eat, shower, and keep a tiny human alive, you know: “having it all” is really just “keeping most of it upright.”
For Allie DaDabbo, a Charlotte-based mom and founder of The Content Friend, that realization sparked something bigger — a way to find herself again through creativity and connection.
From “that friend with the phone” to full-blown businessBefore she was a professional content creator, Allie was that friend — the one who always had her phone out, capturing the good stuff. “I loved creating TikToks, taking little videos and pictures while traveling, out with friends, etc.”
When people started encouraging her to turn it into a business, she hesitated. She was a new mom. Weekends were already spoken for (read: naps, laundry, survival). Starting a side hustle felt… a little unhinged.
But then she saw other wedding content creators popping up in Charlotte — and something clicked. “I decided to take the jump. If it didn’t work, what did I have to lose?”
So she went for it. Like, really went for it. Allie sent over 200 DMs to wedding planners and venues asking for a shot. Three said yes, and those three said yes loudly enough to change everything. “Those people in my corner made all the difference,” she says. “I’m so grateful for them.”
Motherhood, math, and mild chaos
Like every parent, Allie’s motherhood initiation was... eye-opening. “Nothing could have prepared me for the newborn phase,” she says. “I was running on adrenaline, love, and hormones (and SSRIs).”
She laughs about it now, but back then, survival looked like late-night feeding sessions with Gilmore Girls and Love Island as her support group. Now that her son Miles is 15 months, she calls The Content Friend her “side hustle but also sanity saver.”
“It is so refreshing to be part of such an exciting day and meet so many new people. It is typically a long day but SO much fun.”
Boss moves and tiny wins
Allie’s proudest business moment? That first real inquiry. She’s now officially through her first wedding season and just hit 1,000 followers — proof that word-of-mouth, persistence, and community go a long way.
Cheerleader energy, always
When she’s not behind the camera or chasing a toddler, Allie’s biggest focus is on building community — not competition. “Want some beautiful content for your wedding or event? Are you a fellow wedding industry mama that wants a new friend? Let's chat. Something about me, I am your ultimate cheerleader. Whether you're my bride I met an hour ago in person for the first time or a new internet friend, I love to cheer people on.”
That energy — the honest, messy, hopeful mix of motherhood and ambition — is what makes The Content Friend more than just a service. It’s a reminder that moms can chase joy, build something from scratch, and still find time to binge Love Island after bedtime.
